Recruited into the well-established charity to; finance the operation, seek new partnerships with sponsors, advise on operational planning, facilitate growth and drive improvements through strategic planning. Following dramatically increased marketing activity, the charity raised three times normal funding; for the first time the charity can run two programmes concurrently whilst maintaining its high standard of education.


Chairman of Bath Network as a Volunteer – Chartered Management Institute 

Lead a small team of volunteers to the CMI’s Bath Network, and sit on the CMI’s South West Board. Plan, organise, and execute events for professionals across the South West. Drive thought leadership by lecturing as a guest speaker for various academic events; promoting better leadership to tomorrow’s managers.


Director of Business Development – Telecoms start-up

An SME telecoms infrastructure company and Internet Service Provider, providing ultrafast connectivity over Fibre-to-the-Premises technology. Director of BD role evolved considerably to meet the changing needs of the start-up business; including strategic planning, marketing strategy, sales strategy, network planning, commercial planning, and operations management. Responsibilities encompassed determining the operating model, managing all output for the company and driving efficiencies through improving processes. This analysis and operating plan allowed the critical path areas to be identified and correctly resourced. Contract negotiation and management required a diligent and considered approach; one such example includes the fully-outsourced marketing function. Developed the company’s crisis management process from scratch; it very quickly became a well documented, and tested process, which dramatically improved the reliability of the network and customer service. Improved efficiency resulting from promoting proper use of the CRM, saved the customer time, and saved the business on average 40 hours of employee staffing time per customer.


Founder and CEO – Telecoms start-up

Lead Entrepreneur and Founder of an ambitious venture combining both telecommunications infrastructure and Internet Service Provision. The business plan strategically aimed to employ a number of recent developments in technology coupled with the national need for rapid development in this complex and competitive sector. Met with industry influencers highlighted the benefits and the opportunity to collaborate with other local companies rather than compete.


RAF Supply Chain Officer (Fuels Subject Matter Expert) 

The management of operational teams include; a team of 35 personnel in the Falklands with an operating budget of £18m, managing a $1Bn budget and a multinational workforce of approximately 200 personnel (comprising of contractors and Service personnel) to deliver the British fuel supply chain for Afghanistan, and holding a lead role in the MOD’s Fuel and Gas Safety regulator. This post was responsible for licensing 130 fuel sites and ensuring policy compliance, which the regulator authored. Selected for this role based on knowledge, experience, and capacity pertaining to the role’s strategic affect on Defence in addition to the political interest it often attracted from the Secretary of State for Defence.
Military career experience includes working closely with all three armed services, the civil service, contractors, and international counterparts – predominantly focused on operations management, both in the UK and abroad. Contractor management and multi-national support became a key skill throughout military career. Qualified and knowledgeable in a great deal of the MOD’s culture of safety, quality assurance, and risk management. All of the posts held (6 domestic and 4 international posts), depended on reliable team-work and sound leadership.
