Telecoms and utility sector

A start-up communications company delivering gigabit connectivity through building a full fibre optic network. The company grew from a team of 4 staff to approximately 50, and raised ivo £79m of finance within two years.

Developed the strategy, operating model, and forecast growth milestones. Set up processes for BAU tasks. Negotiated and managed commercial arrangements (both the demand and supply side).

Performed critical path analysis of all elements of the business in order to allow the operating model to be established and subsequently developed. Outsourced functions, and managed the recruitment of in-house capabilities when the company had the resources.

Acted as a focal point within the company for sales and marketing, BD, and operations. Pioneered the company’s P3M policies and enacted them.

Tech Sector

A pre-revenue company which combined two distinct functions into one viable business. Authored and iteratively developed a very detailed and robust business plan, whilst promoting the very young company.

Made significant headway in negotiating commercial contracts for outsourced services.

Defence and Security Sector

A supply chain and procurement role in a government agency responsible for delivering everything the client needed for wide ranging global operations. Delivered detailed analysis, proactive planning, forward looking solutions for complex problems, & integrated processes which exceeded the needs of the client. Revised process and data flows to ensure information accuracy providing efficient and yet flexible supply chain solutions.

Property and Rental Sector

A property management company responsible for the maintenance of a 250 year old Grade II listed building; the status quo was fundamentally challenged, allowing the company to make savings of approximately 25% year on year, resulting in significantly more maintenance tasks being completed for no additional cost.

Charitable Sector

A children’s charity focused on improving the lives of children aged 8-12 from under privileged backgrounds. Revised the charity’s strategy and operating model to reflect the changing government-backed funding environment. Grown the network to promote the charity, sought innovative funding streams and have doubled the finances of the charity within one year.
